Let's take Azunyan for a date

It's been ages since I taken out a figma out and about with me, good thing I got a chance to amend that.

It was exilehero's birthday this past week, everyone, say belated happy birthday!

As such our co-workers arranged to take exilehero to a restaurant of his choosing, a nice Japanese place.

Like any proper American Japanese restaurant they serve you some nice green tea and miso soup. Speaking of which, can't for the life of me come to like miso soup no matter how many times I try it. What about you guys, do you like it?

As luck would have it, exilehero got the largest pieces of sushi I ever seen.

I found it amusing though, while he is used to me doing the picture taking our other companions expressed their amusement in their end at my antics.

Their reaction to me swapping faces on Asuza was priceless. :)

"Oh my god! You ripped her face off!"

Funny, how they also questioned if was actually gonna eat or just take pictures... =_='

One of our co-workers took this nice birthday cake, it's actually made of cupcakes with a layer of frosting on  top. Pretty convenient, makes it easier to eat, no need for utensils or plates.

Apparently Azunyan couldn't wait and took a dive for the cake... come to think of it my camera ended with some frosting on it.

Like my co-worker put it, I guess it makes the picture sweeter?

Afterwards, I was a bit bored while waiting to leave to work so I snapped a few pictures.

Sexy figma legs?

Azusa was not amused to say the least.

I almost forgot to mention it, but this is part of a vaguely related series of posts featuring the K-On! girls.

We got Yui, and Yui again, some Mugi,  Mio with only Ritsu to go now.

It was fun doing this kind of picture taking again, even more so since I haven't done it in a while.

I don't see people taking out their figmas and what not out and about to take pictures lately. I'm not looking in the right place or is it out of vogue now?

Anyways, hope the pictures were enjoyable enough.

I'll catch ya later peeps!

CNN9 Special Report

CNN? 9? Strongest? Why does that ring bell? I heard Cirno encountered some passing by magician or something.

Hey! Convenient, someone asked to see a certain level 5 esper recently.

This is so totally not Gensokyo though.

Speaking of level 5's I would like an Accelerator and Mugino figma.

Say, both Yuki and Aya said it was evening right? Sure looks like day to me.

Ah! I wonder who that tipster was.

What's with that face Biri Biri? What where you looking at in that cellphone?

Ahem! Trying to subtly pretend that expression didn't happen huh?

I am a Biri Biri fan. All thanks to the Sister's arc in the Railgun manga. More on that latter though.

Gee, I wonder who would ask such a thing? I bet this fan already knows the answer though.

That reminds me, I anxiously await the figma of this fan.

Man, I can almost hear Aya snicker or something. Wonder why she is writting down her findings.

Indeed, I wonder how. Aya is the fastest so it must have escaped our eyes.

Hmm... wasn't that interview a little on the short side?

Looks like the connection was lost.

Not a single word from you huh? Yuki.

Hey, I remember that. Huh? You are just moving on like that?

Wait? A fight like that is just a brawl?

Now an extra, behold my wonderful set up for these pictures!

This photo shoot was not without casualties. I lost one of Sakuya's stickers, sigh. Also Aya fell from my desk and ended breaking a joint somehow. Luckily enough I have spares thanks to a previous broken figma.

One last thing, Aya has in my opinion one of the catchiest themes in Touhou.

Twitter : )

I wont even bother complaining anymore!!!

Instead I will just happily talk about my latest loot.

First up the figures, pretty light this time around with only two figmas.

I'm happy to say my After School Teatime band is complete with the arrival of Azusa. Even if Mio and Yui kinda made me angry at their sudden sale at the beginning of the year.

I don't particularly like BRS but I did enjoy the OVA and was pleased to see it included with the figma. Now why did I buy BRS? Simple, you can't have Black Rock Shooter without Dead Master and vice versa.

Technically I only got one book this time the third volume of Otacool since I had Spicy Wolf volume 1 for a while. Just kept forgetting to include it in the pictures.

As far as Otacool 3 I liked this theme, workspaces around the world is pretty cool. Plus I got featured this time since unlike Otacool 1 and 2 I was able to participate.

I didn't wanna buy Spicy Wolf at first because of that cover fiasco and what not. I ended picking up the second volume on a whim so I decided to buy the first too. Rightsuf had the dust jacket with the original artwork so I bought it in the end.

I kinda wish it had been like the Haruhi novels, one version with the original cover and one with whatever the publisher wanted. I suppose the dust jacket approach is fine too.

I do however, wish there had been consistency. First volume has the original artwork on the jacket and not the novel itself. For the second volume it was reversed, dust jacket with western cover and original artwork on the novel itself.

I recently played through the story mode on BlazeBlue: Calamity Trigger and after becoming invested on all the characters and the cliffhanger ending I needed to play more. So, I went and bought Continuum Shift to continue the story.

The sequel added gameplay tweaks, stages, modes, characters and a continuation of the story. I played it through and look forward to the next game as well as the new DLC characters.

As far as Resonance of Fate I wanted to buy it since it was released but that month saw me buy Final Fantasy 13 and Yakuza 3 among other things making it not feasible at the time.

When Amazon had it for half price I jumped the gun and bought myself a copy.

On the Xbox side I picked up three games.

I been hearing many good things about Lost Odyssey lately so I got it used for a nice $10. Game is pretty much new so not bad when I see it for $30.

Battle Fantasia is a fighting game by Arc System Works, the developers behind Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. Although available on PSN I wanted a physical copy plus it was originally made for the Xbox 360 in the first place.

Ah, updates are nice, Jet Set Radio Future and Sega GT play just fine in my 360 unlike the one I tried them on before.

Should pick up an original Xbox one of these days.

For the PS2 I picked up Nightshade a spin off the well regarded Shinobi series from the Mega Drive/Genesis days.

Disaster Report is this interesting game where you make your way through a city wide disaster as several characters. Interestingly enough the actions of one character affects the ones that come after them. This game has a sequel in the form of Raw Danger on the PS2 and an announced third game on the PSP.

For the PSP I bought Valkyria Chronicles 2, sequel to the Valkyria Chronicles on the PS3. Just buy both games.

The PSP version has all the well designed gameplay of the original plus several new additions.

Yggdra Union originally released on the GBA and was ported to the PSP. Tactical RPG goodness on the go. If you buy Knights in the Nightmare for PSP you can get Yggdra Union as a free PSN download.

Finally, Sega Tennis 2k2. I see this pop up on worthwhile Dremacast games to play lists so I got it. For a buck, sealed.

It's tennis on the Dreamcast, nothing else I can say.

That's it for now anyways.

It's Just Like Making a Christmas List

When I list all the announced figures I want to get for the rest of the year.

Except of course that Santa doesn't magically deliver them to me and that I'm the one footing the bill.

Last month's list for those interested.

July

Marisa got released a while ago, and I bought her in early May from Play-Asia with a May release. In a couple of days it will be August and I wouldn't be surprised if I still don't receive her.

I'm a little annoyed with the limited release of Touhou figmas. Still, whatever troubles I go through to get Marisa is worth it. After all, you can't have a Reimu without Marisa.

Oh well, at least she is still cheaper than Reimu at $60 USD.

August

I can't wait for Azunyan, she is all that's left and I get a complete After School Tea Time band. I didn't really like Azusa more than usual when I first watched K-On! Now though that K-On!! has focused more on her she is growing on me.

Pre-ordered at Hobby Search for 2,266 yen.

I was supposed to have received the BRS figma together with Mio this month but alas she got delayed until August.

While I like BRS I didn't find her appealing enough to put down the money for one of the scaled releases. The figma though? That I'm more willing to buy.

Hopefully with no more delays, pre-ordered at Hobby Search for 2,266 yen.

I was wondering what Touhou girls would Max Factory make after the obvious Reimu and Marisa.

I'm happy that Max Factory went with the battle maid time controlling Sakuya. Out of all the Touhou games I like Embodiment of Scarlet Devil's cast the most so I'm happy when Sakuya was announced.

Speaking of which, Max Factory, I want a Cirno, Remilia, Flandre and Patchouli figmas.

Sakuya has the listing price of 2,800 yen. I plan to acquire her from an auction site or Play-Asia if she is in stock after her release.

Total for August 7,332 yen.

September

Alright once again, go play and buy Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3. Just the other day I played Valkyria Chronicles again and remembered why I like both the game and Selvaria.

I don't remember if I said it before but Alter is my favorite figure producer. With that in mind, a character I like from a game I love by my preferred figure manufacturer is a no brainier.

Selvaria is priced at 8,330 yen in Hobby Search.

Loli Haruhi will be my fourth Haruhi figma and you know what? I don't care.

I should get annoyed at Max Factory for releasing yet another variation of Haruhi as a figma but I'm not.

Either way I look forward to getting her and expanding Haruhi's expression repertoire. Plus now I really want a Kyon to accompany Haruhi and orange is my favorite color.

Anyways pre-ordered for 2,266 yen at Hobby Search.

Total for August 10, 596 yen.

October

While the BRS didn't spark my interest too much Dead Master did. I find her character design really, really appealing and the character both as Yomi and Dead Master was likable for me on the OVA.

I'm a figma collector first and foremost when it comes to figures so I'm not passing her up.

Pre-ordered for the slightly higher price of 2,429 yen.

I own only one Vocaloid figma, Miku, and she is not my favorite by any means.

As for Luka I like her design, so I pre-ordered her just in case later on I ended wanting her.

Pre-orderd at the usual figma price of 2,266 yen.

Now here is one figure I'm glad I pre-orderd just in case as I seen some already closed.

Like I said before I really like the whole mecha musume vibe Klan Klang is giving off with the VF-25 FAST pack. I'm still not sure if I want to get her because of the 10,200 yen price but in case I do she is safely pre-ordered.

Total for October 15, 095 yen.

Novemeber

This Dead Master figure caught my eye instantly and just as she went up for pre-order I quickly reserved her.

I look forward to both owning her and taking pictures of her.

She is the sole release I want for my birthday month at a price of 7,467 yen.

Total for November 7.467 yen.

December

When I first heard of the actsta line I was curious about it. The quality of a scaled figure plus the articulation of a figma together in one new type of figure.

Then I learned the first release was Subaru from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS and then followed by Teana from the same show this July. I mean, out of all the possible choices GSC had there surely was other more popular characters to chose. Because of this I didn't payed attention to the actsta line after it was announced.

That changed with the recent Wonfes when GSC announced a Nanoha actsta.

I'm looking forward to her as she has not only the same accessories as her figma counterpart but even more in the form of the magic circles.  Besides as nice good quality release of one of my top 3 2D girls I can't miss it.

She is pre-ordered with a price of 7,933 yen, while I feel it's kinda high for an articulated figure I have already payed a higher price for a figma.

Now here is a release that I find interesting for three reasons.

The first is that Saten Ruiko a secondary character from A Certain Scientific Railgun got a figure from Alter. The second that Alter would chose to release her first over say Biri Biri or Kuroko or other Index/Railgun characters. The third, that I apparently liked her character enough to buy a scaled figure of her.

Thinking about it the reason I like Saten comes down to two specific episodes from the Railgun anime when she succumbs to effects of Level Upper and when she goes to the make up classes for people who used it.

Well, pre-ordered for 5,780 yen.

Total for December 13, 713 yen.

A pretty large list in my opinion, I really wonder how many will I actually obtain by the end of year.

It's been a while since I made a list...

Just as the title says I haven't done one of these since a couple months back.

Last time I did so was back in March, you can take a look at it if you wish.

This time it will be a little different, first stuff I pre-ordered already and stuff I would like to get.

June

For this month I only got one sole figure pre-ordered. The fan favorite K-On! member everyone likes to tease, Mio.

Much like Yui I missed pretty much all the initial shipment reservations for the K-On! girls. Got her pre-ordered at Hobby Search and looking forward for her to join Yui and Mugi who are already in my possession.

Total for June 2,266.

July

July is when things get more fun...and expensive.

I got Ritsu reserved at Hobby Search for the usual price of price of 3,077 yen, er higher price. Although I might cancel this and take advantage of Hobby Search's free shipping deal and get her right now.

Even though both Index and Railgun ended their run I'm still madly in love with Biri Biri, mostly thanks to the Railgun manga.

While this came mostly as a surprised to me when she went up for reservation I never though twice about. I mean Biri Biri by Good Smile Company?

She is reserved with AmiAmi for a cool some 4,410 yen.

First, my self obligatory Wii disclaimer, contrary to popular belief the Wii does indeed have excellent first and third party offerings.

Muramasa the Demon Blade is one of them,  from it comes Momohime one of the two playable characters from the game.

Never would have expected to see a figure from Muramasa. Although Alter has done renditions for several of the Odin Sphere characters it shouldn't come too much as a surprise.

Together with Biri Biri she is reserved at AmiAmi for 6,250 yen.

Total for July 13,737 yen.

August

This should not come as a surprise, Azunyan will complete the After School Tea Time band when she is released in August for 2,266 yen at Hobby Search.

Total for August 2,266 yen.

The next figures are some that have recently been announced or released that I would like to get my hands on. There is a dozen or figmas I also want so I wont list those.

First up it's this lovely lady from the Qwaser of Stigmata. I don't have the slightest idea who she or what the show is about.

I do however like maids quite a bit and I like her embarrassed looking pose and glare. She is also completely cast off, this is the first ecchi figure I have been interested enough to get.

She is currently in stock at AmiAmi  for 6,820 yen.

September

Alter is going to release the cool beauty from the PS3 game and anime show Valkyria Chronicles.

First things first, if you got a PS3 and like tactical RPGs pick up this game. Valkyria Chronicles is without a doubt to me one of the best games on the platform, plus you can pick it up for $20 or less at more places nowadays.

I really liked Selvaria as she was depicted in the game and became one of my favorite characters, there is no way I will pass her up. Will per-order as soon as I secure some funds.

Total for September 7,850 yen.

October

For some reason I'm really attracted to Alter's Mugi, perhaps is because her pose is different  from Yui, Mio and Azunyan who share a similar pose.

I have no intention to collect the whole set besides Yui, if I bought Mugi I would feel compelled to get the other three girls. Which my wallet certainly disagrees with.

She is up in AmiAmi for the price of 5,300 yen.

This choice is quite odd, I like Sheryl the best from the Macross Frontier girls. Yet I haven't gotten any of the figure releases of her. Same thing for Ranka, I down't own any of her releases either.

Still, here comes this rendition Klan Klang that I really like. I suppose it must be the mecha musume vibe she gives with the Valkyrie's FAST pack she is wearing.

If I decide to get her she will be for the considerably high price of 9,580 yen at AmiAmi.

Total for October 14,880 yen.

With no game releases that I want until July's P3P I can dedicated my purchasing power to figures which is quite nice. Although, now that I finished school becoming employed  full time would be heaven send for this hobby.
